Mike Lin, CEOTo incorporate the new trends of networking, EstiNet presents the E-Central controller that provides useful features for small and medium size business customers such as network resource auto-provisioning, centralized control, intelligence on networking, and openness. “The EstiNet One-Portal dashboard enables clients to have a central control through which they can monitor functions for the switches supervised by E-Central Controller,” begins Mike Lin, CEO of EstiNet Technology.
E-Central employs hybrid-mode switches as underlying building blocks making the network using E-Central backward-compatible with legacy network while allowing clients to enjoy the advantages brought by SDN. Therefore with central network intelligence and SDN capabilities, a higher-level of network automation can be achieved to reduce operational cost for the clients. “E-Central bring a more automated, open, and creative network infrastructure for organizations,” remarks Lin.

Apart from EstiNet 9.0, the firm also offers EstiNet SDN Education Switch (SES) that comprises rich legacy L2 protocols and functions. With the company’s enhancement, the SES supports many of the OpenFlow 1.3 protocol features including hardware meters and a dedicated built-in web control interface for the SES. For educational use, EstiNet develops a dedicated built-in web control interface for the SES, so that the students can learn operations of OpenFlow protocols and set up OpenFlow rules on a switch without the use of an OpenFlow controller thus minimizing the component requirements for an SDN experimental platform. The company’s E-Central solution was adopted by several kind of customers, such as enterprises, schools and research bodies with various application. With the E-Central solution various network needs were smartly fulfilled which saved deployment complexity of the firm and benefitted them with the openness of SDN.
EstiNet Technology’s investment is in the fields of smart campus and smart city with special focus on enterprise SDN solutions for several kinds of applications in the near future. The company aims at becoming a total SDN solution provider in East Asia. “With the basis of our E-Central solution we plan to add more certified SDN switch models into the E-Central platform along with the addition of management features to the E-Central Open-Portal dashboard to benefit the users. We have also offered many customization options in our E-Central solution to cater to the needs of new clients in new application domains,” concludes Lin.
